Mark Serge Grandoni, 56, of Kapaau died Sept. 3. Mark was a captain and worked in Marine Science. Memorial service for family and friends Sunday at LSV Landing in Kawaihae at 4 p.m. Survived by Beth Goodwin; daughters, Jessica and Maya Goodoni of Kapaau; father, Sergio Grandoni; and sister, Robin Zonghi of Natick, Mass. Alfredo Justo Nazaire Sr., 66, of Waiohinu died Aug. 23 at the Ka‘u Hospital. Born in San Manuel, Pangasinan, Philippines, he was a retired houseman at the Hapuna Prince Hotel, member of hotel union ILWU, and a textile engineer in the Philippines. Friends may call at 3 p.m. on Sept. 14 at the family’s residence at 94-6410 Kamaoa Road in Naalehu for an all-night vigil. Friends may also call at 8 a.m. on Sept. 15 at the Assembly of God Church in Naalehu for a 10 a.m. funeral service followed by burial at the Naalehu County Cemetery. Casual attire, flowers welcome. Melani Kuulei Hart Werohia, 45, of Honaunau and Whangarei, New Zealand, died Aug. 7 at her residence. Antone “Tony” Santos Jr., 82, of Kohala, died Aug. 11. His obituary in the Wednesday edition gave incorrect information concerning his residence and nickname.
